Some New Projects!

Placmats!

I did these for my Mom and Dad's 20 Anniversary. We had some pink roses from the bush out side that matched great. So here is what you need to make these placemats!

To make One-

Two sheets of card stock
Bright pink paint
White paint

Dark green paint
Brushes
Contact paper
Regular tape and double sided.

Step 1

So you need to over lap and tape the to sheets of
card stock; the tall way. (The back) Then flip it over the front, to the over lap, and use double sided tape to secure down. (I didn't do this and had to do this after painting. So I thought you could just do it before.) Now you are ready to start painting!

Step 2
You can do the stripe down the center first.(If you mess up bad you don't mess up what you have painted already!) So for that stripe you just use the pink and white, blending the colors so one color is o
n each side. Yes you just go right over the over lap.

Step 3
Then the roses...that way you can then place the leaves around them. Then you can let the roses dry and then do the leaves! I don't have a video of the rose yet...maybe some day!

Step 4
For the leaves I did the green, and white. with the white blended in the middle.
Here is the link to my lesson for leaves! http://sarahgpaintings.blogspot.com/2009/03/lesson-2-leaves.html

Step 5
Then for the last step-After everything has dried, you can put the contact paper on! I just did it on one side. (you could do it on both) Leave about an inch or more around the edge- then fold over. For the corners, cut out squares in the corner of the contact paper, then fold one side, then the other and so on.
Here is a example.

Smooth out the contact paper..You Are Done!!!!!!

Here is the one I did!

Our table setting!

A While ago I painted a picture that was like this on card stock. Then I painted that same print on this piece of baked clay!
